That's what is causing the ghost chapters. We are not redefining chapter timestamps based on the downloaded section. This is the video in question: a long video from a game about a group of school band, has chapters, used the pre-downloaded video file that is created using the exact same configuration so that I won't waste yet another 1.3 GB of data plan. This time, I do actually want to download the entire video and split them into chapters, so 1.3 GB download is not all wasted. While I was downloading a long video and decided to -split-chapters, the split videos all got the same case as above: timestamps where they shouldn't be and mistakenly reported length. Sorry to bump, but I do have something very similar to this that I have to put it in here instead of a new issue. The ffmpeg command is downloading the whole stream.įfmpeg should be limited with -t, and IT DOES,īut I've noticed that the ffmpeg command has -t before -i, Not sure what the cause is, but maybe the full log (attached) will help with that. It also acts funny when skipping chapters (well obviously there is nothing to play afterwards) the_weird_case_of_ghost_chapters.mp4 When opening the file various players shows the full 3 hours long video, which is weird.Ĭhecking the streams-data, the length is seems to be actually reported correctly (7 minutes, 14 seconds - the correct length of first two tracks). This creates a nice 7MB file, which is fine. Normally the full 3 hours is 175MB of m4a (audio only), Using -download-sections "*00:00:00-00:07:14" I've limited to the two first chapters. I came across this weird one while testing a new awesome player, I've read the guidelines for opening an issue.I've searched the bugtracker for similar issues including closed ones.I've checked that all URLs and arguments with special characters are properly quoted or escaped.I've checked that all provided URLs are playable in a browser with the same IP and same login details.I've verified that I'm running yt-dlp version 2022.06.22.1 ( update instructions) or later (specify commit).I'm reporting a bug unrelated to a specific site.
